Description
Moody 33 Mk1 built in 1979 by Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd as yard number M33-233. Designed in 1973 by the well known Angus Primrose.
White painted hull with original white gelcoat superstructure and grey gelcoat non-slip areas.
Large centre cockpit with Whitlock wheel steering pedestal, engine controls and grab rail. There is a large cockpit stowage locker to starboard and a self draining gas locker capable of holding 2 gas bottles to port. The cockpit floor lifts up to access the engine and can be removed entirely should the engine need to be removed.
There is a silver anodised alloy toe rail with alloy stanchions and stainless steel guard wires, pulpit and pushpit railings. There is a deep anchor well on the foredeck housing an electric anchor windless with anchor locker below decks.
The mast and boom are of silver anodised alloy with stainless steel standing rigging with a Plastimo headsail furling gear.
There is a single lewmar winch on the mast and 2 No 16 double speed winches on the cockpit coamings.
Below decks, the aft cabin has 2 full length single berths with a hanging locker under the companionway steps (providing access to the gearbox and after end of the engine bay) and a vanity unit between the after end of the 2 berths. There are also 4 spacious lockers above each berth.
In the saloon there is a quarterberth to port followed by a linear galley with several stowage lockers, a Plastimo Neptune 2000 cooker with oven, grill and 2 burners all with flame failure devices, and a sink. To starboard is a large dinette with lockers underneath and behind the seats and can be converted to a double berth if required.
Moving forward is the heads compartment with a Lavac sea toilet to starboard with a hanging locker behind, a shower tray in the centre and a sink and hanging locker to port.
In the forecabin is a conventional V berth which can be converted to a double with an infill and lockers above both berths.
The boat has been ashore for some time and has been partially stripped for a complete refit which due to the owner’s commitments has never been completed.
All aft cabin woodwork has been professionally replaced in teak, some of which has been fitted and some remaining to be fitted. The side linings have all been replaced with only the headlining to do.
The rest of the boat has been stripped of plumbing and wiring but is structurally still complete.
Some skin fittings have been removed to be replaced and the original Thornycroft T90 engine has been removed and professionally rebuilt at a cost of £2000. The engine bay has been stripped, glass fibre lined and gelcoated throughout.
There is a quantity of timber, materials and lining material which is included along with a quantity of fittings and fixtures.
This is an excellent boat for someone with the time to complete and when finished would be worth around £32,000.
